IT IS EXPECTED THAT YOU WILL…
BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR WHEN TEACHER IS NOT IN THE CLASSROOM
Expectations
Student is expected to turn in quality homework and class work on time. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.
Student is expected to do his or her best on all assignments.
Student is expected to study or review notes daily.
Student is expected to make sure all correspondence goes home to parents in the communication folder.
Student is expected to be respectful, obedient, and polite.

Rituals and Routines
State a classroom rule before entering.
Tuck Shirts and wear pants around natural waist.
Display ID around neck.
Enter quietly and orderly.
Sharpen two pencils.
Take out homework and agenda book.
Head paper in the top right hand corner (name, date, subject, page number, teacher, and block).
Complete Daily Oral Language.
Homework Policies
Students will have homework Monday through Thursday.
Homework is due on the following day for full credit. One day late will result in partial credit. A zero will be assigned after that.
Students will be required to watch or read the news daily for a current event. A short summary (paragraph or more) will be written in the composition book. Students will present their news stories to the class for an ongoing homework grade. General weather and crime stories will not be acceptable.
Weekend homework is to Read, Read, and Read!
Homework is worth 10% the grade.
Class Work Policies
Class work is due at the time the teacher collects it for full credit. One day late will result in partial credit. A zero will be assigned after that. Class work is worth 30% of the grade.
Students will be required to do a major project in Language Arts. Projects are worth 60% of the grade.
Students will take weekly test on the standards taught. Tests are worth 60% of the grade.

Assessments(tests, essays, projects, research papers) 60%
Class work & homework(make-up & extra credit) 40%

- Complete all assignments.
- Stay on task and actively listen.
- Follow the dress code.
- Walk in a straight and quiet line on the third square.
- Use the restroom during the class break.
- Enter class quietly and use inside voices.
- Raise your hand before speaking or leaving your seat.
- Only speak at appropriate times.
- Keep hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.
- Use appropriate language.
- Keep your area or space neat and clean at all times.
- Have all needed materials.
- Always sit in your assigned seat.
